The spectacular natural harbour of Brandon Creek, from which St Brendan is reputed to have set sail for Newfoundland, Cathair na bhFionnúrach, one of the finest examples of a ‘cashel’ anywhere in Ireland and Gallarus Oratory, with its unrivalled ‘corbelling’ are within a couple of minutes drive of Coill an Rois.

The Dingle Way

The Dingle Way is a long-distance walking trail which completes a circuit of the Dingle Peninsula.  Beginning in Tralee, the trail is 179km long and walkers average 20km per day, where they encounter wonderfully diverse landscapes and the finest archaeological sites in Ireland.

The Dingle Way passes the gate at Coill an Rois and is a regular overnight stop for those walking from Dunquin to Feothanach and on towards Cloghane. Luggage transfer and alternative transport, if weather conditions are poor, can be arranged if required.
